Rwanda Direct is a Christian Charity that:
-
works through the Church in Rwanda to meet the deep needs of the country through education at all levels, leadership training and support of innovative and local aid and development.
-
seeks to give support to work that is not easily financed from large aid agencies. It is intended to encourage community development and growth in capacity rather than dependency.
-
promotes personal relationships between people and leaders in Rwanda and the UK, and encourages prayer for those who wish to.
-
makes sure that money received goes straight to work in Rwanda
Over recent years Rwanda Direct has supported:
Scripture Union ‐ youth camps, music provision, vulnerable children work, I.T., books for their library, centre development, child to child Aids education in schools, resources for widows groups.
East African Christian College ‐ support for fees to enable the College to train theological students from poor backgrounds at more advanced levels, equipping them for the needs of the country.
4 Dioceses desperate to improve the education of their Pastors and Catechists, providing emergency support through the Covid period and enabling a Missionary Archdeaconry.
Widows and Orphans ‐ including the Hannah Project in Byumba which helps child headed families caused by Aids or genocide.
